Company Background


UNIVERSAL TESTING LABORATORY AND INSPECTION, INC. is composed of professional and technical personnel specializing in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within the broad field of Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Chemical Engineering and Non-Destructive Testing-Level II Technicians in which the key objective is to render the most efficient and professional services in the construction industry.
It is equipped with the most modern testing apparatus and latest technology, making it one of the most modern and professional testing laboratories in the country.  Its line of services includes construction materials testing services and technical services to various private and government agencies. 

Company History

          Universal Testing Laboratory and Inspection, Inc. (UTLII) began its operation in Metro Manila in year 2000 with ten (10) employees.  It focused particularly in testing of construction materials, particularly on Asphalt, Cement, Concrete, Soils and Geo-technical Sub-Surface Investigation.  Highly skilled personnel with adequate competence in laboratory and field testing of materials were hired to meet the demands of the industry.  Necessary laboratory equipments were acquired as well.  As the company continues to grow, it has recently added Non-Destructive Testing of welded steel to its roster of capabilities.  Since 2001, UTLII has obtained accreditation from the Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).    Currently, the company is a member of Philippine Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc., Association of Concrete and Asphalt Producers of the Philippines, and BRS/DPWH Consultants and Contractors Materials Engineers.  

          Since year 2000, UTLII has maintained its integrity in the field of testing and inspection in the construction industry by fulfilling its responsibilities beyond expectation.  With this, the company continues to strive to be the country’s leading testing and inspection company.

Services Offered
LABORATORY SERVICES
Various physical-chemical tests are conducted on cement, mineral aggregates, concrete, soil, chemical admixtures, asphaltic concrete, liquid and penetration grade asphalts and special products.  Tests on durability, material selection, and physical properties for concrete technology are also offered.

GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES
Geotechnical sub-surface investigation required for the foundation and structural design of various infrastructures as well as shallow and deep well drilling works are performed by the company.

TECHNICAL SERVICES
These include periodic inspection, repair, and calibration of plants, transit mixers, production facilities and testing equipment.

TECHNICAL SERVICES TRAINING
As a response to customer requirements for technical assistance, advice, materials testing, and inspection, field and laboratory training seminars related to quality assurance and quality control systems are conducted.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
This service focuses on the evaluation and improvement of existing products such as admixture, steel fibers, fly ash, blast furnace slag, and silica fume.  Research is conducted to meet required technical specifications for quality, resulting to cost effectiveness, and when conducting project feasibility studies on the viability of source of materials for construction use and introduce value engineering to maximize quality with minimal cost.

QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTION SERVICES
Quality control inspectors for civil, structural, welding, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation installations, act as support team for construction plants and industrial structures.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
